The horizon that changes everythingSet the mine life to eight years. Watch the renewal logic change — a thirty-year replacement on an asset with eight years of ore behind it is a write-off, and most asset tools will still recommend it.
Tailings sit outside the trade-offThese are not competing for capital on a risk-per-dollar basis. GISTM obligations are a floor, and the pack shows them as a floor rather than as line items that lost to a conveyor.
Downtime is the consequenceFor the circuit, consequence is production. This mill ranks first because of what an unplanned outage costs per hour, not because of its condition grade.
Controls on the tailings bowtieThreats, barriers, consequences. Your engineer of record will recognise this shape. What they will test is whether unverified barriers earn credit — they do not.
What we do not doAnd plainly: we do not compute GISTM conformance and we do not run a breach analysis. We carry the consequence classification and the review cadence as content. If somebody tells you their software makes you GISTM-conformant, ask them the same question.

Does this replace our EAM?

No. It reads from it. AIPP is the investment decision layer; the EAM stays the system of record for work.

Our criticality is already assessed under NORSOK Z-008.

Then use it — Z-008 ships as a criteria pack and your existing classification loads straight in as consequence.

Can it do FMECA?

No, and that is written into the standards registry as a declared gap. AIPP reasons about assets and controls, not failure modes.

Run it on your own worst class

Bring one export — the class with the missing condition data and the costs from 2019. If AIPP tells you the truth about it in twenty minutes, that is worth a conversation. If it scores everything and looks clean, tell us so.
